The champions therefore completed a season without a defeat in the Elite division in either the regular season or the playoffs, with wins over Vikings (semi-final) and Centurions (final).
Congratulations also go to Ontario Cricket Academy as 2012 Premier Division champions, Parkdale as 2012 First Division champions, Caribbean Limers as 2012 Third Division champions and Royal Sluggerz, the 2012 Fourth Division Champions.

The ‘missing’ congratulations for the 2012 Second Division championship would be extended to the winners of the final, due to be played on Sunday, between Civics and Ahmadiyya. But, in the bigger picture, it is appropriate to extend congratulations to the losing finalists, the other teams that qualified for the playoffs, and the rest of the pack, the participating clubs in the regular season who, hopefully, can aim to return next season and look to reach the playoffs. The various league officials, club officials, club sponsors, match officials, the non-playing club members and supporters, those who look after the grounds and pitches, and other cricket lovers who watch the action in the various parks and grounds.
A special vote of thanks should go to cricket followers. players and officials who spend some time telling passing strangers who pause to watch play in a sport they might know almost nothing about, or might be new immigrants with no real knowledge that cricket is played in the Greater Toronto Area.
The passing stranger might be transformed from a passing stranger into a spectator, cricket lover and even a player or umpire, if given a bit of guidance about the game. Or that stranger might be a little kid, or the father of a little kid, who might grow up to be the next Bradman, Headley, Sobers, Richards (be it the new Barry or the new Viv), Kanhai, Marshall, Lillee, Gavaskar, Bedi, Benaud (an Aussie captain of French heritage), or even a captain Canada of cricket. The little kid who develops might be female, and there might be a few more female teams. So you might, in such a development and growth context, need a few more grounds, practice nets and even more umpires and scorers!
So we can give congratulations for this season, not just to the TDCA but across the various provinces and leagues. We could recognize that those who performed well this season probably did so due to ongoing development and improvement, and give our forward thanks for the fruits of some of the current crop of Canadian cricketers, especially those given the chance in schools and by clubs/academies or provincial schemes.
A picture of the 2012 TDCA Elite Division champions can be found by those who check out Brampton Masters on Facebook. The coach and the scorer are included in the picture.
