New bat Mutizwa however still took 10 off the over, with a four and a big straight six, and Ervine brought up the hundred two overs later. Bhatti soon had his revenge as Mutizwa tried to pull a short ball and top-edged an easy catch to the keeper &#8211; 105\/5. Zimbabwe passed Canada&#8217;s total without further loss to claim 1st innings points. Jyoti took the sixth wicket (Chakabva, lbw for 23), but Ervine reached his fifty as Zimbabwe extended their lead to 60 runs at lunch.  Ervine took charge in the afternoon session, reaching his fourth first-class century, and the Canadian bowlers managed a solitary wicket, as the game drifted out of control. At tea Zimbabwe were just short of 300, with Ervine on 137*. He went on to a career best 177, and  Masakadza helped him put on 111 for the 8th wicket. Bhatti finally broke the stand, and finished with 6 wickets. When Canada batted again, they lost early wickets, with Bastiampillai providing resistance with a patient innings.
