Canada will play PNG for last place in the Under 19 World Cup, after falling 23 runs short of Namibia’s 263\/9.
\nNamibia Under-19’s won the toss, elected to bat and scored 263\/9 from 50 overs against Canada U19s at the ICC Academy Ground No. 1 in Dubai on Monday. The opening pair put 40 on the board before Julius was lbw to slow-left arm spinner Farhan Malik for 19 after 9.3 overs. Green and Kruger then combined in a stand of 97 for the second wicket that ended when Kruger was caught by Armaan Kapoor for 57 off the bowling of Nitish Kumar. Kapoor then caught Green for 57 in Kumar\u2019s next over to leave Namibia on 145\/3 from 30.2 overs.
\nErasmus was bowled by Tinto for 19 at the end of the 40th over: Namibia 195\/5. Coetzee began to gather some boundaries and sixes during a partnership with Loftie-Eaton. Talha Shaikh bowled Loftie-Eaton for 13 then had JJ Smit caught by Farhan Malik two balls later: Namibia 231\/7 off 46 overs. Malik ran out Coetzee in the 50th over, by which time Coetzee had plundered 73 runs from 50 balls. His innings included 5 boundaries and three sixes. Nitish Kumar\u2019s spin brought 2\/44 from ten overs. Talha Shaik took 2\/33 from four overs in the late going. Canada\u2019s other wicket-taking bowlers were Malik with 1\/35 from 10 overs, Tinto with 1\/59 from 9 overs and Dutta with 1\/50 from 10 overs. Abraash Khan bowled four overs that cost just 11 runs at the start of the Namibian innings.
\nIn reply Canada lost Aurka for a duck in the first over, and then lost Kumar after a rapid 24. Rao put on 45 with Dutta (28) and 48 with Shaikh (27) but Canada fell behind the run rate, and wickets started to fall as they tried to accelerate. Rao made 66 from 93 balls, Manoosingh made a last ditch effort with 30 from 18 balls, but when he was last out, Canada were 23 runs short.<\/p>\n
