One of two of these opportunities have already appeared on Canada Cricket Online, thanks to the awareness of the web master.

This past weekend’s men’s Western T20 in Edmonton, Alberta brought to light an item on the Edmonton and District Cricket League’s website about the local women’s cricket program. There is also an opportunity coming up for those in the Calgary area to participate in Glenmore Cricket club’s “biggest and best Pee-Wee cricket program”.

The Edmonton District Cricket League (EDCL) website outlines the local women’s cricket program, which also interfaces with the activities of the Alberta School Cricket Association’s junior cricket progams. The following was first posted on the EDCL website on March 25, 2014:
“The EDCL women’s cricket program is actively recruiting women who wish to
learn the skills of the game. This year we are looking forward to games with
Calgary, West Vancouver, Chiliwack, and the Wicket Maidens in Victoria. We
will also have more games with Alberta School Cricket Association (ASCA)
Juniors. Everyone from beginners to those with experience of the game are
welcome to attend indoor nets in March and April. Our outdoor practice
schedule will be at Coronation Park starting in May.”

So enthusiasts – and their baseball, basketball, (ice) hockey and football playing friends – could check out the EDCL’s website and contacts to discover more about the local cricketing development programs. The Calgary & District Cricket League website brings news about the “Glenmore Pee-Wee Program”, an item that has been on the website since May 12, 2014.
Some contact information and a link to the Glenmore club’s website are provided via the Calgary & District Cricket League’s website. The following gives some of the basic background about Glenmore’s current program for youngsters:

This summer Glenmore Cricket Club is running it’s biggest and best Pee-Wee
program.
