Smart Choice recovered from an opening day loss to St Edmunds (224 runs beat 137) to beat Somerset Cavaliers. India Cricket Academy had lost to North Star in the 20th over on day 1 (154\/159) but also came back with a win against Connecticut Blizzard.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Saturday sees the final round of group matches, the top two from each group progress to Sunday\u2019s semi-finals. St Edmunds (W2, L0) play Somerset Cavaliers (W1, L1) in the morning game (10.30 am start) in Group A, with Smart Choice (W1, L1) playing Midwest (W0, L2) in the afternoon (2.30pm start). The Group B matches conclude with a morning game between North Stars (W2, L0) and Connecticut Blizzards (W1, L1) and an afternoon game between India Cricket Academy (W1, L1) and US All Stars (W0, L2).<\/p>\n<p>Cricket Council USA sources indicate play is due to be video streamed live on the tournament\u2019s closing day, Sunday August 17, 2014 when semi-finals are due t<br \/>\no begin at 9am with the Final at 1pm followed by the Bollywood-style entertainment to conclude the festival.  This weekend follows Independence Day celebrations in India, and Pakistan (which originally included present-day Bangladesh). .<\/p>\n<p>Several Canadian and USA international players plus some Pakistan international players are named in the participating teams in the Niagara Cricket Festival.<\/p>\n<p>Day 1 Results (August 14, 2014)<br \/>\nGroup A\tSomerset CC 181 (20 ov) beat Midwest CC 71 (20 ov)<br \/>\nGroup A\tSt Edmunds 224 (20 ov) beat Smart Choice 137 (20 ov)<br \/>\nGroup B\tIndia Cricket Academy 154 (20 ov) lost to North Star CC 159 (19.1 ov)<br \/>\nGroup B\tUS All Stars 125 (20 ov) lost to Connecticut Blizzards 127 (18 ov)<br \/>\nNote: The number of wickets lost in each innings not known at this time.
