Bermuda D\/L target 200 from 42 overs.<\/p>\n<p>Delray Rawlins lead a brave effort that took Bermuda U17s close to victory against Canada U17s under the Duckworth\/Lewis (D\/L) system on Wednesday (August 20). Rawlins hit 87, his second half-century in two games, and lead a fourth wicket stand of 101 with Jordan Smith, who made 27. The partnership began after two wickets fell soon after play resumed following a stoppage for rain. Bermuda had slipped from 33\/1 to 39\/3. A couple of late order batsmen reached double figures but Canada\u2019s bowlers and fielders did enough to complete a D\/L win. Canada has two wins from two matches in this ICC U17 Development Tournament, USA one win from two and Bermuda has lost both games.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Jordan Smith had picked up 4\/43 from ten overs in Canada\u2019s innings and Rawlins spin conceded only 15 runs from his ten overs. He picked up one wicket. A stand of 21 between the two &#8220;A. Khan&#8221; Canadians ended when Abraash Khan was out for 20 (41\/4). Arslan Khan lead the recovery of the innings during a sixth wicket stand of 52 with Sarbjot Singh Sivia (20) and a seventh wicket stand of 92 with Abdul Haseeb (36*).<\/p>\n<p>The tournament continues on Thursday with the second meeting of Bermuda and the USA at the National Sports Centre in Bermuda.<\/p>\n<p>Results<\/p>\n<p>Monday, August 18: USA U17 195 (48.2 ov; Kushai Ganji 79, Novendra Boodhoo 28) beat Bermuda U17 159 (41.1 ov; Delray Rawlins 79; Nahusa Rao 4\/27) by 36 runs<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, August 19: USA 117\/9 (50 ov: Jash Patel 24, Harsh Thaker 3\/9) lost to Canada 118\/3 (32.5 ov; Abraash Khan 40*, Thursaanth Anantharajan 25, Arslan Khan 24*) by 7 wickets<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday, August 20: Canada U17 210\/9 (50 overs; Arslan Khan 76, Abdul Haseeb 36*, Jordan Smith 4\/43) beat Bermuda U17 193\/9 (42 overs; Delray Rawlins 87, Jordan Smith 27, Harsh Thaker 2\/11) by 7 runs under the D\/L system.
