Congratulations go to Halifax Red on winning the Halifax Cricket League One Day Competition 2014. A remarkable finals weekend concluded the HCL season which saw Red (ranked 2nd) proceed from a superb Semi-final victory against Halifax Gold (ranked 3rd) which ended in rain and the scorers reaching for the Duckworth-Lewis calculator, and then proving too good on the day against Halifax Blue (ranked 1st) in the Final on Sunday lead by a typically strong captain’s performance from skipper Yash Gugle.<\/p>\n

Golden T20 Season in Halifax<\/p>\n
The Halifax Cricket League’s 2014 Twenty20 Competition came to a conclusion on Saturday with Halifax Gold victorious over Halifax Red in the Final.<\/p>\n
Gold restricted Red to 104\/7 from their 20 overs with a miserly and determined bowling and fielding effort. Then a man of the match performance by David Campbell (67 runs) with the bat lead a successful run-chase to guide Gold home to 107\/3 and a 7 wicket victory with 14 balls to spare.<\/p>\n
The win meant double T20 silverware for Halifax Gold this season having won the traditional season-opening T20 tournament, the Deonarine Cup, back in the spring.<\/p>\n
