UT Dallas Comets beat Drexel University Dragons by 35 runs in the final to capture the Chanderpaul Trophy. Canadian participants University of the Fraser Valley and McGill University did not qualify for the quarter-finals from the qualifying pools.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Ryerson had a close encounter with Northern Illinois Huskies in the quarter-final, reaching a<br \/>\ngame tying 161\/8 (20 ov) to tie with the Huskies 161\/6 (20 ov). Noyam Nasil hit 43 from 24<br \/>\nballs to quickstart the Huskies innings with an opening stand of 61. Hassan Khan picked up 4<br \/>\nwickets for Ryerson at a slightly expensive cost of 39 runs from 4 overs.<br \/>\nIt may sometimes prove useful if a team gets into the mood of hitting the ball into the air a lot<br \/>\nand a couple of bowlers pick up 8 wickets for about 80, and the other two batters are out quickly.<br \/>\nRyerson\u2019s innings, by contrast, was based upon some early runs followed by key partnership<br \/>\nbetween Hassan Mirza (67) and Nikhil Dutta (54).<br \/>\nRyerson advanced to the semi-finals, scoring 124\/6 (20 ov) against UT Dallas Comets with<br \/>\nHassan Mirza (24), Farhan Khan (23) and Mohammed Asadi (21) heading the individual run<br \/>\ngetters. Karthik Rajasakara (40) and Sachin Kumar (35) lead the way for UT Dallas Comets to<br \/>\nreach a winning 125\/6 with one ball to spare.<br \/>\nChiranseev Reddy struck 65 as UT Dallas Comets posted 192\/7(20) in the Chanderpaul Trophy<br \/>\nfinal against Drexel United Dragons. Drexel Dragons had pulled off a 3 wicket win with 2 balls<br \/>\nto spare in semi-final action against the University of South Florida Bulls. UT Dallas Comets<br \/>\nlimited Drexel Dragons to 157\/5 (20 ov) in the Final. Chandan Naik top-scored for the Dragons<br \/>\nwith 65*.<br \/>\nQualifying Pool &#8211; Canadian team overview<br \/>\nIn qualifying group play, Ryerson thumped 116\/3 from 12.3 overs to beat Penn State\u2019s 115\/9 (20<br \/>\nov) and overtook Harvard\u2019s 76 all out (17.3 ov) with a quick 79\/1 from just 5 overs. Ryerson<br \/>\nedged out Northeastern Huskies by 4 runs, holding the Huskies to 165\/7 (20 ov) after posting<br \/>\n169\/4 (20 ov).<br \/>\nMcGill University was unable to break the century mark in three pool games, one of which<br \/>\nwas.admittedly, reduced to 15 overs per side. McGill made 95\/5 (20 ov) but Northern Illinois<br \/>\nresponded with 96\/1 from 12.3 overs. McGill followed with 81 all out (19.1 ov) and lost to<br \/>\nAuburn Tigers 82\/2 (15.3 ov) and closed with a 58 run loss against Arkansas State Red Wolves.<br \/>\nThe Red Wolves pumped 156\/7 (15 ov), McGill replied with 98\/6 (15 ov).<br \/>\nThe University of Fraser Valley had a tough time making runs. Fraser Valley made 48\/9 (15.3<br \/>\nov) in losing to the University of Florida Gators, who hit a rapid 49\/1 (4.2 ov). Fraser Valley<br \/>\nused up the 20 overs against Southern Florida Bulls, but Fraser Valley\u2019s 67\/7 (20 ov) was soon<br \/>\noverhauled by the Bulls charge to a winning 68\/2 after 6.1 overs. Only one team\u2019s score was<br \/>\navailable on CricHQ for Fraser Valley\u2019s third game in qualifying pool play.
