More competition for Major League Cricket as well, which is struggling as it is.
Will players prefer this gig rather than anything in North America?

Oh, oh!
CC has terminated the agreement with Bombay Sports (due to a breach of contract). Is this the end of the GT20 ? No mention of the tournament is made in the announcement but that in itself does not give confidence in its further playing. Would be very bad news for the Canadian cricketers as well as many overseas Associate players.

The T10 pro tourneys that have been played in Lauderhill and Dallas
were total busts.

I really like the idea of a women’s T10. Only two teams to start though.

Cricket Canada has announced that an entity called National Cricket League Canada has been granted an operating license for "GT20". Whether "GT20" refers to the Global T20 Canada tournament previously operated by Bombay Sports Limited or what NCL Canada is exactly has not clarified. It is possible Bombay Sports Ltd was bought out by NCL.
It would be preferable to see the GT20 continue to operate rather than start from scratch again with new branding. However, it remains to be seen what the budget would be for attracting international players, etcetera.

A crazy, rich, south Asian from Dallas is behind this "North America" Canada gig.
The tournament he ran in Dallas last year had players illegally in the county,
a pitch so bad they couldn't allow fast bowling and empty stands.

Heard
ICC is refusing to sanction the thing.
