Despite the talent gap between the Canada/USA and the rest (and the second gap between Bermuda/Caymans and Bahamas) there is some benefit to the North American Cup. The lesser sides got some badly needed competitive games. The stronger sides got to test some new players. This tournament was more needed a decade ago and earlier but still has utility today.

Perhaps the North American Cup could be improved by including one of the WI islands such as a constituent board of Windward or Leeward Islands (ex. St. Vincent and the Grenadines) - depending on whether that board would be interested in paying their own way.

The cricket team of the future...one with mainstream Americans
playing before American fans, with American sponsors,
American commentators.

The second edition of the North America Cup is scheduled for April 4 -12 in Cayman Islands :

Time for Canada to rebuild their team with a mix of younger talent. Bowling is a particular area of concern.

Canada squad for 2026 tournament:
Saad Bin Zafar (C)
Ajayveer Hundal
Akhil Kumar
Ansh Patel
Anoop Chima
Aryan Sidhu
Dilpreet Bajwa
Harsh Thaker (VC)
Nicholas Kirton
Pargat Singh
Rana Salman
Rishiv Joshi
Shivam Sharma
Shreyas Movva
Yuvraj Samra

Saad back as captain. What does that say of the choice of Bajwa for the T20 World Cup ? Sidhu from the last U19 team is brought in. Also, interested to see whether Chima can perform at this level.

Wikipedia, I can't see their source, is saying the 2026 North American Cup will take place in the Cayman Islands in September.

A thing called Bernews has a story but when I copy the link it has the Wikipedia page.

North American Cricket Cup Set For September
March 14, 2026 | 0 Comments
The organizers of the North American Cricket Cup have announced that the tournament will now take place from September 20–27, in the Cayman Islands after it was postponed from its originally scheduled April dates.

A spokesperson said, “The five-member boards of the North American Cricket Cup announce that the upcoming edition of the tournament has been rescheduled to take place from September 20–27, 2026, in the Cayman Islands.

“This unified decision follows extensive and constructive discussions among all participating members. The postponement reflects a combination of logistical challenges, global travel concerns, and international match-fixture commitments that collectively impact the ability of teams and organizers to deliver the event as originally planned for April 4–12, 2026.

“All member boards remain committed to delivering a premier regional competition that continues to elevate the profile and development of cricket across the ICC Americas North American region.”
