Didn't Aaron Johnson retire? No information about warmup games.

^ Yes. I'm sure Johnson did retire but I felt it was because he was not being selected and probably off the list of salaried players. I have doubts about how effective he will be but we'll see.

Also in the "we'll see" category is Matthew Spoors. I don't think Pubudu liked him which is unfortunate because he seemed close to being a strong bat and later showed himself to be a useful part-time bowler in landing a Big Bash contract.

After the past couple of years of turmoil Canada is not really in the running for a top 4 finish in League 2. The next year is about finding the best side to compete in the playoff qualifier. It should not have come to this.

Apparently they played a few games in Toronto. Playing a TDCA XI is hardly like playing Netherlands.

Saw this on Bluesky from a guy who writes about USA and MLC cricket. A guy named Keith Brake.

Cricket Canada has moved its tri-series with the USA and Netherlands at King City behind closed doors. All tickets are being refunded. I suspect the decision was influenced by security concerns after CC president Arvinder Khosa's house was hit by a second drive-by shooting in two weeks.

Canada with not enough runs. Good stuff from Nadeem and Samra ( both maybe a bit slow) and Kumar. I don’t understand under using Sana who had easily the best economy of the bowlers.

Two wickets was not going to get the job done even had not Canada's middle order failed. I feel badly for the team in that the off-field circumstances this past year have been damaging for morale. However, they are playing for their livelihoods and need to improve rapidly.

Wasn't looking good for Canada against the Dutch. A familiar scene of Canada initially restricting an opponent but unable to take crucial wickets was playing out. However, to their credit the team did eventually bowl out the Netherlands. Somehow the batting held together for the win. It was a good recovery after Saturday's domination by the Americans.

Of concern were Kirton and Singh, who Canada need to be in the runs consistently.

Finally a score at King City. Canada 275/8. That’s defendable. Kirton moved up the order and responded with an ODI 50.

Add dangerous pitch to the list of problems the new leadership of Cricket Canada must resolve after another King City fiasco hosting the Dutch. Canada lucky to get a point out of the final match of the series with a "No Result". CC will have to sort out how this happened and how to ensure this is resolved for good. Even if Canada survives to play in the next League 2 (or its successor), where will they play if not Maple Leaf CC ?
