According to the CC app there are five teams at the u19 nationals. I’m sure there’s a good reason for it but it looks like two teams have 15 players, two have thirteen and one has twenty.

I wish there was some information from someone somewhere! Nothing on Wikipedia either! Qualification is on around the world for the 2025 u19 Women’s WC. Nothing about Americas qualifying. No sub regionals?
Exactly. What is the U19 National Girls tournament in aid of ? It seems quite late to be selecting a national U19 women's team but how else to explain all this activity if it does not lead anywhere for this group of young women ? Some info from Cricket Canada would be helpful.

Meanwhile, ICC Americas is struggling to grow the game among Associates in their region. It looks really bad that the USA could again take the Americas berth at the 2025 U19 Women's World Cup as the only country able to field a team.

ICC Women's U19 T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier: August 9 -16, 2026

The first Women's U19 Americas Qualifier is taking place in the Caymans (because Canadian board corruption). The USA has twice represented the region because no one else could field a remotely competitive team at this level. In 2026 things are not much improved with only Canada and Argentina joining the Americans by sending national sides. An Americas XI combined team will make up the numbers.

The USA should win easily and the competition will be between Canada and Argentina for 2nd place.
