There are hundreds of spectators but they're Nepalese fans! There seemed to be dozens even at the Oman game which is OK.

Another valuable win against Nepal. Beating a team that comfortably won their ODI series 3-0 in February. Bowlers taking early wickets they could not in Holland. Different circumstances, but a great turnaround nonetheless. Just one more strong effort needed to take maximum advantage of the home stand.

Johnson ... yes, he hasn't had a good couple of series and that has to be fixed. The team is also looking for another pace bowler when one of the experienced group is unavailable. Kumar and Joshi, etcetera are still new to the international game. However, on this occasion, Canada's depth has proven adequate. Take the wins while you can.

Cricket Canada are probably grateful for the Nepalese fans even though they are cheering against Canada. It looks a bit better for the corporate sponsors - that and winning, of course.

Sooner or later sponsors are going to ask why are there are no Canadians
in the stands for the country's "fastest growing sport"?

Oh no. Today’s game washed out. I hope the ground is OK for Canada’s next game. Also the T20s.

After the setback of the last series, the 4-0 home series has put Canada in a much better position.

Canada finishes their first year of CWC League 2 with a very impressive 16 points. They now have the winter to adapt to a new coach and strengthen areas of weakness. They next face the Dutch and host, Namibia. The American dominance in the Namibian League 2 series puts Canada's last two losses to the USA in a somewhat better light. It should also give some hope to Canada that even a team of Namibia's considerable talent can be beaten at home.

Overall, a good year for Canada but they will need to improve and take points off the leading Associates if they are going to pursue a top half finish in League 2.

UAE aren’t crushing it either.
Oman had a real collapse today. They might have tried to up the scoring rate and got themselves out. Canada played with test cricket strike rates which was sensible.

OK Ray. When do you think they’ll hire a new coach? I’m going with a couple of weeks before their next games.

^ I guess the timeline for the new coach would depend on whether CC had someone in mind and whether they are looking to hire a Canada-based individual. If it's an overseas coach it might take until November for that person to arrange relocation.

Then back to square one, learning about dozens of players in the national pool, meeting other members of the support staff, creating an overall development plan. Be ready to embark on a warm-up tour in February 2025 ?

Johnson dropped from today’s T20. I still think Canada's batting needs to improve. They barely scored 7 an over. Of course, all out for 106 yesterday. Seriously, some domestic T10 to get the power hitting up to where it needs to be.
