Emerging Cricket reporting Cricket Malaysia have been kicked out of Kinrara Oval as the primary home of cricket in Malaysia: https://emergingcricket.com/news/uncert ... oses-down/

This could present a spot of bother for the ICC and their plans for holding the 3rd round of Challenge League A in Malaysia this December. Another suitable venue would likely have to be found for Malaysia to continue as host. The Malaysian government could yet intervene to help out the sporting body.

Meanwhile, Malaysia are involved in a T20 tri-series in Nepal against the hosts and Papua New Guinea. Malaysia managed a single win over PNG but could Canada have managed even that. Probably not, at this stage.

So it’s July 27-Aug 6. They should announce the team soon, hopefully rewarding performances from the HP league.

Reposting Canada's schedule:
ICC website: https://www.icc-cricket.com/cricket-wor ... e/fixtures

Canada's fixtures
July 27: vs Denmark
July 30: vs Singapore
July 31: vs Malaysia
Aug 3: vs Qatar
Aug 5: vs Vanuatu

No information on warm-up games but Malaysia leave home July 17, Denmark leave July 22nd so they and probably other teams will be on the ground a few days before the 27th. Some informal warm-ups could be arranged. A Canada 'A' squad could even be made available. These opportunities to prepare our team for the tournament and give a few prospects a taste of international cricket don't come around often.

CC app is showing warm-ups for the Challenge League, though no matches are currently listed. Under the same warm-up section the Canadian player list is provided. Some of the missing names probably mean it isn't the final squad for the tournament.

We’re awaiting the outcome of some Visa issues with the Canadian authorities. Our coach Keith Dabengwa holds a Zimbabwean passport, while two players hold Indian Passports, and haven’t been granted access to Canada as yet https://cricket.dk/visa-problemer-aendr ... il-canada/

Vanuatu have played practice matches against a Canadian side (I think) and against Qatar. Again the mysterious radio silence from CC. They have an app and everything!

The SINGAPORE NATIONAL MEN’S SQUAD will be hosted by the MISSISSAUGA CRICKET LEAGUE (MCL) to aid in their acclimatisation and preparations for the upcoming ICC CWC CHALLENGE LEAGUE where Singapore go in as joint table toppers alongside Hosts Canada who lead the table by NRR.

These preparation games will be vital inorder to get the team ready for the 50 over format.

SCA thanks Mr. Zahoor Butt (PRESIDENT MCL) for the support extended towards hosting the Singapore Squad and assistance towards preparations for this crucial tournament with World Cup Qualification implications.

MCL won by five wickets. It's on the Mississauga FB.

A preliminary Canadian squad of 17 is listed on the ICC Challenge League page. Most of the regulars are named with Kirton, Spoors and Johnson also included. Hamza Tariq is the notable absence with Arman Kapoor and Shreyas Movva apparently filling the keeping duties. The final squad (seems to be 14 players) should be out soon.
===================================================
Edit

Final squad released:
1. Navneet Dhaliwal (c}
2. Shreyas Movva [wk]
3. Dilon Heyliger
4. Harsh Thaker
5. Jeremy Gordon
6. Matthew Spoors
7. Nicholas Kirton
8. Ravinderpal Singh
9. Rayyan Pathan
10. Rommel Shahzad
11. Saad Bin Zafar
12. Salman Nazar
13. Ammar Khalid
14. Varun Sehdev

Johnson left out this time, Movva chosen as wk, Spoors given a chance in 50 over (his T20 form was underwhelming). Kirton has been playing in T&D this summer and has sufficiently impressed to earn a recall. Rommel Shahzad is the next former Canadian U19 make the full national team.
