Kumar scores 5 against Guyana and 24 versus T&T.

Leeward Islands playing Jamaica needing a win and some help to advance to the semi-finals. There seems to be a 5th place match so Nitish may get in another innings regardless of the outcome. Have to wonder whether a good showing down the stretch earns him another contract next Super 50 or this was a one-off.

Edit: Kumar scores a 51 against Jamaica

Kumar finishes his tournament for Leeward Islands with a 29 in the 5th place match against a Barbados squad not fielding the disappointing Mr Kirton. Overall Nitish can be pleased with his Super-50. He showed he was not out of place playing with and against West Indies pros - top scorer in the round-robin portion, albeit on a poor Hurricanes squad. Time will tell whether this performance opens the door to further contracts (perhaps CPL).

It looks like there are no Canadians in this year’s CPL.

I’m just reading up on Joshua da Silva who has played tests and ODIs for the West Indies. He’s 22yrs old. According to Wikipedia, his mother and maternal grandfather are Portugese CANADIAN! He could be playing for Canada! Maybe later in his career?

The WI four day comp starts Wednesday. They announced it on Monday 😗! No Kirton or Nandu although there are reserves so teams can complete the fixtures amid covid. Joshua da Silva is playing (Canada eligible but right now the WI keeper)

According to Emerging Cricket, Nitish Kumar played on a MLC Central team in a tournament called the Houston Challenge which had mostly USA players. They played three (or two - one was washed out) 50 over games and a T20. Kumar finished third in the tournament with 111 runs scored. The games were streamed on youtube so maybe you can still check them out. This immediately followed the Houston Open, which I can't find any information on - on the internet! Last year a few Canadians were there.

Rumor has it that Kumar is planning to qualify for USA. So next time
USA plays Canada he very well might be on "Team USA."

Kumar and Dutta are in the Minor League Cricket. Kumar with ‘Lone Star Athletics’ and Dutta with ‘San Diego Surf Riders’. I don’t recognize any other Canadian eligible names.

Former Canada U19, Kavian Naress has been in Sri Lanka the last few months playing 3-Day and T20 cricket with Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic club. He did quite well in the 3-Day format finishing 2nd top scorer on his club over 5 matches. Unfortunately, Bloomfield finished winless and last in their group. Kavian has had a harder time in the short format, only getting two matches in the T20 competition. Nonetheless, he has done well as one of the few Canadians currently playing overseas and will only turn 22 this year.
