Yes. And obviously, social media is free so no excuses. How about some highlights? None from Germany either as far as I can tell. Anyway, some good live fire practice for the team.

Apparently Canada played Bahrain on Feb. 10 and won by 38 runs. No other info.

Canada with the expected easy win over the Philippines.
Canada 216/1
Philippines 98/5

Matthew Spoors led the way with an unbeaten century with Pathan contributing 73.

Now the challenge really begins, needing a win in one of the next two matches to move into the semis.

Still like to know where this Spoors guy came from. CC website doesn't even list him on team. :!: :?:

2nd match versus Oman was not even close. Oman win by 9 wickets.
Not enough runs to defend and ineffective bowling. Cricket Canada should be worried not only for T20 qualifying but for the 50 over WC qualifier should we win our Challenge League A.

Saw some highlights of Nepal v Oman. Seems like a nice facility. Small boundary. It is T20 after all. ICC website has highlights.

A dismal innings for Canada as they fall for 80 to Nepal. The newcomer, Spoors has not adjusted well to the top level of Associate cricket but then the whole team failed today. This is the second match in succession that opener Pathan has been run out when he has started well.

It is clearly tough on the team playing after having nothing but practice indoors in Canadian winter but this is a common situation for northern hemisphere countries. Cricket Canada has to adapt to deal with it. This is also the price of blowing the match against the USA to finish 2nd in the Americas qualifier.

If we hope to do anything at the 50 over World Cup qualifier play-off (assuming we win our Challenge League) we will have to schedule some matches against this level of competition. An Auty Cup series against the States would be a start be we will need more matches against the quality of Oman/UAE/Nepal.

CC must focus on 50 over play this summer. There should be regional tournaments and a national championship (ie high performance) one day games. It’s more expensive though. The domestic play in the WI is 40 overs. They should be able to play on consecutive days to keep the tournament shorter. And yes an Auty Cup.

Going for a big shot and getting caught is OK but the two runouts were horrendous! Lack of game time? I don’t really think so. Heyliger was not out on 24. Similar to the last game. Should probably be batting higher.
