A very poor start for Canada who are blitzed by Bermuda in their opening match. It leaves Canada in need of nothing less than 4 wins and a large deficit in net run rate to make up prior to their rematch with host Bermuda.

Canada has already made up the NRR difference! It’s too much to hope for an upset of Bermuda I’m afraid.

Was Johnson the captain? That’s what the scorecard on the app says.

A massive win for Canada in their 2nd encounter with Caymans should push Canada ahead of Bermuda on NRR. So a victory in their final match by any margin ought to be enough to secure the Americas berth in the T20 World Cup. I'm not ready to concede that Bermuda is the favourite to win but they do have the most dangerous batsman and both Canada's batting and bowling are unproven against them. We'll have to hope the matches against the other two sides have brought the Canadians to the proper state of readiness. They didn't appear to be ready for the first match.

The penultimate match day has been abandoned due to a tropical storm. Whether the all-important Canada/Bermuda encounter takes place as scheduled on October 7th is up in the air. There are no reserve days. If the final matches cannot take place, Bermuda will take the tournament and the berth in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Despite my misgivings about the magnitude of Canada's opening loss to Bermuda, they defeated the hosts on the last day to qualify for their first T20 World Cup. The team played their way into form over the tournament, beating up on Cayman Islands and Panama. Tropical storm Philippe made for some concerns about the final match going ahead, but in the end there was no denying Canada. Congratulations to the team and especially long-serving members, Bin Zafar, Wijeyeratne, Gordon, Heyliger and Dutta on their first ICC World Cup.

Sana led the tournament in wickets. Kirton had a great tournament. Two or three not outs, excellent strike rate. He got out doing his role of accelerating. Dhaliwal is a great runner between the wickets.
