The Big Innings guys saying tickets for the Canada v USA opening game of the WC are $80 for the cheapest seats and $40 for the cheapest standing. Will there be anyone there? I think ‘yes’ because they’ll paper it.

Following the Feb-March 2024 League 2 ODIs in UAE, Scotland and the hosts will play a T20 series. Canada is not participating it seems. Is there another League 2/T20I series for Canada prior to the T20 WC ? If not, how will Canada prepare for that competition ? If Canada and the U.S. were not playing each other at the WC, they would mutually benefit from a T20 series.

Edit:
It seems Canada and USA will play each other as part of a May T20I tri-series with UAE. Info released with USA's ODI/T20I schedule from Czarsportz: https://czarsportzauto.com/usa-schedule ... -league-2/

The WC team has been announced. I’m really surprised Nikhil Dutta is left out. No Wijeratne. And Ravinderpal Singh is in!

^ And Junaid Siddiqui, Rayan Pathan and Kanwar Tathgur brought into the team. I'd agree about Dutta. I would have thought Dutta quickfire scoring might have tipped the scales in his favour ahead of Siddiqui. Dropping stalwart, Wijeyeratne was another tough decision. The two are not even in the listed reserves. We shall see whether it makes a difference in the results.

There is still time to make adjustments to the squad (until May 25th). The Canada/USA/UAE T20 series may be important to solidify places.

Edit: Perhaps unsurprisingly, there may be more to the story. The matter of selection rears its head. Peter Della Penna: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php? ... 3715051311
Is the USA's $500K participation fee the same as Canada received or is it larger as a tournament host ?

And this article suggests the coach has been left out of selection: https://medium.com/@fardink/controversi ... 9d5033d58f
Just when things are starting to look good for Cricket Canada, the organization manages to create trouble for themselves.
