It's 5 days since the initial Facebook post of the Nepal series and a day before CricInfo has the series starting. Yet no further details from CC website/social media. The CC App does give the location as King City but no dates or Canadian squad are provided. It seems pretty basic stuff and hardly much to ask of the organization responsible for administering the sport. I'll update whenever the details are eventually made known.

==============================================
Edit:
The CC app is showing 4 matches:
July 1 MLCC XI vs Nepal 50 ov
July 3 MLCC XI vs Nepal 20 ov
July 5 Canada vs Nepal 50 ov
July 6 Canada vs Nepal 50 ov

If this is accurate, it is good to see a much-needed 20 over match added. Hope MLCC XI means Canada 'A', with prospects and top U23s included. Finding opportunities to introduce new players was something Canada really failed to do early this century. It has cost us heavily in the last decade. Looking forward to the squads.

The CC app now says there are games on July 1 and 3 Nepal v MLCC XI and Canada v Nepal on July 5 and 6. I can’t see these warmup games being competitive but I guess Lamichhane can get his spells in. Maybe some HP league games in Ontario would have been good prep for this tour?

MLCC XI vs Nepal, July 1, 3 2022
1 Jash Shah (Canada U19 @ 2022 ICC U19 WC)
2 Riyazkhan Pathan (Canada U19 @ 2010 ICC U19 WC)
3 Mihir Patel (Canada U19 @ 2022 ICC U19 WC)
4 Naresh Bahadur Budhayer (b. 1991, Nepal)
5 Ramanvir
6 Nicholas Manohar (Canada U19 @ 2020 ICC U19 WC)
7 Jade Padmore (b. 1989?, Barbados)
8 Ammar Khalid
9 Raymond Bynoe (b. 1993, Barbados)
10 Sheel Patel (Canada U19 @ 2022 ICC U19 WC)
11 Nauman Zafar (Canada @ 2019 Cricket West Indies Super50)
12 Keenan Tinto (Canada U19 @ 2014 ICC U19 WC)
13 Arjun Thuraisingam
14 Darshil Patel
15 Anoop Chima (Canada U19 @ 2022 ICC U19 WC)
16 Hassan Mirza
17 Eran Maliduwapathirana (Ontario U19 @ 2021 Canada U18)

The Maple Leaf XI team fielded against Nepal seems like a mix of recent Canada U19s and recently qualified Canada prospects. It is unfortunate some of the youth did not get to play in the Ontario high performance league before facing Nepal. Then again, the lack of details for the Nepal series from Cricket Canada suggest the organization is anything but organized.

Unfortunate news that 1st List A has been abandoned because of rain. Bad news for a few Canada fans but even worse for the legions of Nepalese fans.

One fewer practice for Canada ahead of Challenge League A round 2.

Canada: 188/9 50ov
Nepal: 105 all out 39.2ov

A game display from the tail-enders lead Canada to a decent 188 (under the circumstances) after some rough middle overs. Aaron Johnson made the most of his debut with a strong start but thereafter the rotation of strike was only due to batsmen returning to the pavilion. Fortunately, Shreyas Movva and Ammar Khalid pushed the total at the end.

Going forward, Canada need to get the Ontario HP league going to give prospects a chance to play at a higher level and evaluate players before they are put into big games. Cricket Canada has done well to give so many a game but it will be hard to determine who can perform consistently under pressure and who just had a single good/bad game.
=====================================================

Edit: Quite the shocker as the Canadian bowlers were surprisingly miserly in strangling Nepal's chase. Harsh Thaker was exceptionally restrictive but really all the bowlers contributed. Ammar Khalid and former U19 Rommel Shahzad were great in their debuts.

Cricket Canada now has the dilemma of selecting a team and adequately preparing it for the Challenge League in a few weeks. Which players missing here should be included? Which top performers from this series should be added?
