Over 40 WC

Post by Victorian » Fri Nov 24, 2023 3:52 pm

From a Zimbabwe Cricket Forum post about an over 40 world cup next year -

‘Zimbabwe have been pooled with England, Australia, United States of America, Namibia and Canada for the Over-40 World Cup in South Africa.’

I always go on about preparation but how will they select this team? Do players realistically have to be from Toronto?

International Masters Cricket Over-40 World Cup 2024 is underway in South Africa.

Canada has played 2 matches and beaten Namibia and Zimbabwe. I don't recognize any names from the Canadian side as former national team players.
Vinay Kumar Devisetty (Captain)
Manpreet Khaira (Vice-Captain)
Kiran Bodhasrungi
Satjit Gill
Harmandeep Dosanjh
Godwin Louis Alfred
Rajbir Dhillon
Mohammad Yunus Anwar
Tarun Khanna
Ryan Pittiman
Rajesh Veetil
Shailesh Patel
Eveton Spence
Knawardeep Sukhija
Amit Anand
Kamaljeet Parmar
Manager: Akshay Pandya, Assistant Manager: Javed Khan.

The IMC Over-60 WC is taking place concurrently in India, also with Canadian participation. However, scores are harder to come by. That Canadian side has more familiar names.
