USA vs Canada

Post by timmyj51 » Sun Apr 07, 2024 2:50 pm

Bad loss by Canucks in Texas today before "crowd" of 43. And to think people are going
to be paying hundreds of dollars to see these same two teams in a couple of months! :roll: :lol:

I don’t understand the Big Innings guys saying we’re all “excited “ for the WC opener between USA and Canada and PDP saying this series takes the shine off of the WC game. Anyway. The game is on the CC youtube. Over 12000 views so far! All of the umpires are from the USA which is fine because these series are developmental for the officials as well but I wish some Canadian umpires got in there too.

I feel it’s a bit concerning that the T20 team is exactly the same as the ODI team. Not much depth I guess.
Thaker out to a terrific catch by the keeper not long after the keeper looked pretty awkward on a ball that went through to him.
I don’t like the kit. Too red.

^ I like the $pla$h of TD green on the front of the kit, though :).

Canada brought down so many to the Houston camp was to see what T20 talent was in the pool. It would be disappointing if they end up with the same 11 that plays the ODIs. They did add Joshi but he is just filling in for Kaleem Sana. CC haven't listed a full squad for the US series so we'll have to wait to see the full team of 14/15.

Another match...another loss. Started out pretty good but then
total collapse. Hard to believe this bunch beat Scotland twice. :oops: :oops:

Canadian bowling struggling in the series so far. Allowing the Americans to post 230 for the loss of 3 wickets won't get the job done. The only good thing is that Uday Bhagwan and Rishiv Joshi are getting matches at about 23 year-old. Hope they will develop into mainstay bowlers.

Clearly a road. The USA with 230/3 and Canada, slogging to catch up, with 199. 199 is a big total. But Canada has had tons of preparation and the USA hasn’t which is worrisome. Joshi grts a helluva lot of swing. I notice Canada seems to bring on spin very early in the attack. Parveen Kumar with his T20 debut.

Another match...another loss for Canucks. Slow scoring this time;
couldn't chase down 159. Month and a half and these two teams
gonna kick off the WC! :o :shock:

Good for them to be in a close game I guess but I’m not too interested in moral victories at this point. Again 37 yr old Saad is the best player on the team.

Canada improved as the series went on but the US with their newly qualified players has too much depth. Canada struggle to match them without their top bowlers. Nitish Kumar top-scoring for the Americans adds insult to injury :(

USA sweeps the series 4 - 0. Hope our coach has a better idea of his best team for WC.
