Amarpal Kaur is a dominating bowler. She is leading the tournament in wickets and been player of the match at least once (twice?). Divya Saxena leading the tournament in runs scored. More gigs to come for them?

The difference between Canada and Brazil was that Canada was able to find more cricket talent. This will likely continue as CC now start to take the women's game more seriously and starts to emphasize development. Brazilian female cricket is largely this national team. I expect there are few other players. Unless they drastically expand their talent pool they will not be able to progress further. The team is still very much reliant on Roberta Avery for their runs.

Canada's women not far off the level of the States. Continuing to develop talent and expanding the player pool are what is required to stay in touch. Another issue is Canada's lack of international competition. Had it not been for the Americas T20 qualifier, it is unlikely Canada would have player any cricket in 2023.

The new policy is based on the following principles (in order of priority), protection of the integrity of the women’s game, safety, fairness and inclusion, and this means any Male to Female participants who have been through any form of male puberty will not be eligible to participate in the international women’s game regardless of any surgery or gender reassignment treatment they may have undertaken.

The move isn't surprising and is being considered by other sports federations.

The state of Victoria in Australia has pulled out of hosting the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Alberta, Canada has ruled itself out of 2030 hosting duties. The rising costs of multi-sport games could mean the end for the CG which were first held in Hamilton, Ontario in 1930. With the Games would go the recently introduced women's cricket.

Canada wasn't going to compete in the CG but would now miss out on any future qualifiers. It may also mean Sport Canada sees one less competition for the Canadian women and don't increase funding to the full degree possible in the wake of Olympic acceptance.
