I don't think Canada could qualify for the Commonwealth Games 2022, but I hope there's a decent qualifying process.
The hope should be for an inclusive qualifying process and some effort by Cricket Canada to use the name recognition of the CG to bring in new women players at all levels.

What About The Women? : http://www.canadacricket.com/?p=12998

Not surprised by this sentiment among women cricketers. Only surprised that it took this long for the concerns to be voiced by someone. The ladies need to organize and demand more of CC. It would help advance the entire sport in Canada, not just the women's game.

Hmmm. Brazil appear to think that the women's game is the area for growth of the game in that country. It is awarding central contracts to its women's team. The Cricket Brazil initiative is funded by two corporate sponsors.

Cricket Canada be warned. Female cricket is not advanced in either Canada or Brazil but such a development could rapidly promote the South Americans up the Americas ladder. Women's international cricket in Latin America, while off the radar of the general public, seems to be much more regular than for North America. It would not be a surprise to see other countries follow.

Yeah, South Americans have been doing MUCH, MUCH more than North
Americans with women's cricket. And they're building up mainstream
players. No, or few, expats here. That Featherstone guy, the one who's
doing all this, should be ICC Americas Development director, not this
do-nothing women collecting a big paycheck in Colorado.

(Yawn) Nothing to get excited about. Just the women's version of
the men's combines. Just going to look at the expat women now
playing. Doing NOTHING to expand the game to mainstream American
women. :x :x

Durriya Shabbir appointed as Women’s Coordinator:

We'll see whether having a person specifically designated to the women's game makes a difference.

Women's cricket, in both states and Canada, will go nowhere unless they
can get mainstream women into the game. If this person can't do that (and I'm
sure she was never asked that in the selection process)
the hopeless stagnation continues. :( :(

ICC Americas Women's T20 scheduled for August 2021

It should be interesting to see how Brazil do with their new central contracts for the women's team. They could make quick progress given the state of women's cricket in the Americas.
