Canadian domestic cricket
Re: Canadian domestic cricket
Now to be the women’s. Five teams - two from Ontario, one from eastern provinces, Alberta and BC.
Re: Canadian domestic cricket
MCC are playing against a Team BC XI this Thursday the 19th in Vancouver. Captained by Uday Bhagwan and including a friend and sometime teammate of mine Kieran Parfey. Two T20s in one day.
Re: Canadian domestic cricket
BC Selects won one out of two T20s. A Victoria guy took MoM in one of them with three wickets and another Victoria guy was not out!
Re: Canadian domestic cricket
Cricket BC has a HP pathway set up this year. There are open trials with four teams formed as a result. They play eight T20s, players must commit to playing at least four, and then two teams, including BC based Canada players play three T20s. They’ll play on turf.
A good initiative. I have two issues -
I, and I think most everyone else on Vancouver Island, heard about this on Tuesday. The trials are on Thursday.
The games will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays making it very difficult for Island players to participate (I assume all games will be in greater Vancouver). There’s a four game minimum commitment and commitment is taken into consideration for future selection.

Re: Canadian domestic cricket
There was a thing last year called ‘High Performance Cricket on Vancouver Island’. It was for senior and junior players. To say the least, it has room to move onwards and upwards.
Re: Canadian domestic cricket
There is an open trial in Victoria this Friday.
Re: Canadian domestic cricket
There’s a Maritime Cup T20 tournament in Halifax this weekend. Teams from Halifax (two), PEI and New Brunswick.
