I’m confused by this No Frills tournament. The teams are playing Bermuda but Bermuda doesn’t seem to be part of the comp.
it took me until now to realize that the No Frills company must be sponsoring. That’s good.
Cricbuzz lists Dhaliwal as captain, Movva as keeper and has Kirton in the lineup. I think they’re guessing.

The Canada lineup is on Facebook. Dhaliwal and Movva are not involved in the No Frills or the T20 WCQ tournament. The No Frills cup is a bit strange. Canada and Bermuda play 2 matches but not each other. The other 2 teams play 3 matches. Just warm-ups, I guess.

Canada with a big total -205/5. Thaker ends up on 49*! Johnson almost never even gets a half decent start. 5 from 8 today. Should be dropped for good really although maybe his part time bowling saves him a bit. Guys who got some runs had big strike rates. 10 an over.

^ Easy win for Canada in the tournament opener. If everything goes to form, Canada will accumulate a huge net run rate lead in the coming matches, rendering the rematch with Bermuda academic.

Nice to see a couple of Canadian-developed players leading the batting. Canada need to preserve their ODI status so other domestic talent can emerge.

Canada superiority over these Americas opponents masks problems. The place of wicketkeeper-batsman is still up for grabs. As you mentioned, Johnson has not performed. Perhaps it's time for Bajwa again ? Then Canada may have to decide on another captain not only based on Kirton's legal trouble but also his up and down form.

Canada perhaps trying to go too fast. 60 odd for four after 10 overs. Thaker smartly slowed things down but was 13 off 24. Kirton and Tathgur now also wisely going at a run a ball.

Well I feel a lot better about 162. Tathgur with 53*. Jaskarandeep hit a no ball for six which is fun. Kirton with a timely innings.

Well this was always a concern. Can/Bah delayed by rain. Is Canada going to drop a point to Bahamas? Aaaarrrggghh!
Also, a wet outfield at King City could cause problems for the rest of the week. Canada were playing quickly and using spinners. Bahamas were playing big shots. Strategically, they should try to bat long. One guy did have to tie his shoes and recheck his guard with the umpire.

One of the most stupidest things in all of sport - the reduced over T20. Reduced to 11 overs.
