With respect to representing Canada:
"I had to think a while about it, but at the end of the day, the opportunity to play international cricket right away as opposed to playing first-class cricket in Barbados and having to wait another two-three years to get into the West Indies side, I saw the opportunity and I took it."
Wasn't much a choice, really. Kirton's level play with Barbados and the CPL was spotty at best and generally declined over time. He never showed the consistency to represent Barbados long term, let alone West Indies.

Hope for his sake, he is able to clear up his legal issues. Removing his captaincy may be the best thing for his on-field play. He has often struggled when there was extra pressure on him.

Yeah I think realistically he was never going to play for WI. I always hope he’ll play domestically in WI but he never has again as far as I know.

USA lose to India and Pakistan to start the World Cup 0-2. Safe to say they won't be repeating their Super 8 appearance of two years ago. This means they'll be part of the next ICC Americas T20 qualifier. Canada's easy road to the World Cup is over.

What will be bleak for Canada is if the USA does not make the super8. Then they will have to qualify through the Americas.

Yuvraj Samra setting many Canadian records with great 110 off 65. Youngest 50 in T20 WC history, most sixes in an innings and in the WC for Canada, 1st and 2nd wicket partnerships…

I’m not at all sure about putting Kirton in at #4 with two overs to go. I would think bin Zafar or Heyliger and when Heyliger got in there he hit a six!

Match against New Zealand was always going to be a loss. Canada continues to lack the bowling to restrict any side with batting. At least the Canadian openers put up some runs. I'm pleased for Samra and indeed hope his T20 century propels his professional career.

A poor T20 World Cup for Canada (perhaps their last for some time) ends with four defeats. The team never threatened a win. One or two noteworthy performances were provided but nothing resembling a match winner. Ineffective bowling and weak batting remain a concern.
