Continuing where this decade old list of Sport Canada funding to Cricket Canada left off ...
https://www.canadacricket.com/?p=3884
Year Funding
2012 $178,000
2013 $135,400
2014 $88,000
2015 $10,000
2016 $80,000
2017 $80,000
2018 $80,000
2019 $80,000
2020 $137,000
2021 $119,500
It would be really interesting to know the reason for the fluctuations in the funding levels. My understanding was that Sport Canada reduced Canada's funding in 2011 because of the way the ICC handed out World Cup places to Full Members. But Canada seems to have pulled in good $$ for a couple years before failing to qualify for the 2015 WC and dropping out of the a top 16 ranking. Government funding has stayed around $80K for many years before another small boost recently. Was this a top-up from Sport Canada to help get through the pandemic ? It might explain how Canada suddenly has money for these HP Leagues and Women's championship but what happens next year ?
Cricket Canada really should be required to publish their financials when they receive government money. No updates for the past two AGMs.
