Canadian overseas players
Re: Canadian overseas players
I owe Kumar at least half an apology. The Big Innings guys saying he went to Houston for a longer season to play more cricket. But I don’t think that actually affects his ability to play for Canada.
Re: Canadian overseas players
Nandu played a few games and Guyana won the competition! but he seems to have been dropped for the last couple of games. He never scored more than the 20s and had 0 and 1.
Re: Canadian overseas players
Matthew Spoors played in the 2023/24 Western Australia Premier (formerly First Grade) competition with Scarborough. He was joint winner in the voting for top player with 549 runs and also contributing some useful bowling performances. In an interview he said he had returned to western Australia to be closer to his partner, which is also likely part of why he is not currently in the Canada pool. However, if he continues to play well, Canada might want to consider bringing him in.
Re: Canadian overseas players
Former Canada U19 Benjamin Calitz is currently playing the Irish Inter Pro competition (List A, T20). He also played last year in an Irish club team.

Re: Canadian overseas players
It looks to me as if there are no Canadian players in the upcoming CPL. Well, except for Matthew Nandu. Actually no Canadians in the Lanka league either.
Re: Canadian overseas players
Oliver Cox, Canada-eligible batsman in the Worcestershire CCC system has had a poor summer playing second XI cricket. He has generally struggled to reproduce his good form of last year. Ollie has been absent from the lineup the last two matches of the 4-day season (perhaps to represent Canada's HP team in the warm-ups for Oman and Nepal Selects). As such, he has been replaced in the Worcestershire 2nd XI by his younger brother, TJ Cox. The brother seems to be a bowler and also possibly eligible for Canada. We shall see.
Re: Canadian overseas players
Ansh Patel, who spent his early youth in Canada but returned to India with his parents once he began to show potential, now appears to be Canadian player pool. He played the 2024 Central T20 representing TDCA. Then he was in the Canada Selects squad for the MCC tour. In between he played a T10 franchise tournament (Max60) in Cayman Islands, facing some well-known names and performing credibly.

ICC Americas have sent a team to Bermuda to face the hosts in an exhibition. The Americas Selects include Argentines, Americans, a Falkland Islander, a Brazilian, a Bahamania and Canadians Yuvraj Samra (ON) and Finley Dixon (BC). The Canadians seem to be both eligible for the next Americas U19 championship.

Re: Canadian overseas players
MiLC has started. I recognize very few names. Canadians that I know are
Hamza Tariq. Allrounder? East Bay Blazers
Nikhil Dutta All rounder. San Diego surf riders
Ravindu Gunasekera (?) all rounder San Diego surf riders
Most players on all teams are listed as all rounders.
Maybe Canada guys will join after their League 2 stuff is done?
