Rizwan Cheema had been the women’s coach. Maybe again?

Maybe CC could get Stuart Law as coach. He’s recently fired from USA Cricket where he had good success.

^ :D Thought the same thing ... though, not too seriously.

It's 2 months since the application deadline. CC should really be on the point of naming the coach (or only waiting for a foreign coach to relocate). There's lots of work for the new coach to familiarize himself with the player pool. It can't be put off for very long.

Will all the players speak only English during games? That was one of the reasons
he was fired.

Cricket Canada hires a CEO (Salman Khan) to manage player development and manage relationships with ICC and sponsors. At least the new man has some corporate sponsorships to manage instead of a gaping emptiness that came before.

No news as yet on a new coach. Wonder whether a possible lawsuit from the former coach would be a financial impediment to hiring a replacement. Canada might end up removing the "interim" from Khurram Chohan's title.

Cricket Canada are re-posting a want ad for Men's national team coach in March 2025, 8 or 9 months since letting go their previous head coach : https://www.cricketcanada.org/news-deta ... Head-Coach.

Their August 2024 search for the same position was clearly unsuccessful. Who was in charge for the Zimbabwe/Namibia tours ? Why have they waited so long to restart the search ?

With recent experience of 9 years outside the top tier of Associate cricket, Cricket Canada need to get the men's coaching situation resolved both quickly and satisfactorily. Funding (ICC and corporate sponsorship) for their new development structure affects all the national teams and largely depends on the performance of the men's team.

Canada is apparently pursuing experienced coach Dav Whatmore: https://torontosun.com/sports/other-spo ... cket-coach

Whatmore won't come cheap and who is next on the list if Canada fail to land him ? The last and current League 2 series have not gone well and the team can ill-afford to wait for leadership. If Dassanayake was pushed out in part because he resisted interference from the board, what is the likelihood Whatmore would be any more willing to tolerate it ?

Whatmore's spent his entire career coaching south Asians so I guess he'd be
the logical choice since there's--what--one Anglo on the entire team. ;) ;)
