Match report (from the Canadian Press!)
Dhaliwal MoM but seems it should have been Sana. His bowling preserved the tie and only gave up three runs in the super over. Captain Kirton put himself in to bat in the super over instead of Dhaliwal

Another match against the Netherlands abandoned without seeing which side was best prepared.

Canada elects to go with a extra bowler in 2nd encounter with Nambia. It pays off initially as the hosts are restricted to 186. Unfortunately, Canada then lacks the batting to chase a reduced total. An opportunity lost to put themselves near the top and compound Namibia's poor start to 2025.
Canada had a great start to their innings but the introduction of Erasmus turned the match in Namibia's favour. Indeed he snuffed out Canada's last hope with Bin Zafar's dismissal. On the positive side Samra's 53 again rewarded the selectors' confidence. He may yet struggle when teams figure him out but to date he has done the job.
Canada end up splitting points with both Netherlands and Namibia. So glass half-empty or half-full ? The series could have gone much worse had not Canada played the super over so well in the first Namibian encounter. On the other hand, two wins against the southern Africans was definitely within reach. Rain prevented any determination of where Canada stands vis-a-vis the Dutch.
On to the T20 series with Namibia and a chance to try some other players in the shorter format.
Next up for Canada in League 2 is a visit to the USA to face the Americans and Omanis. They must trying to keep in touch with the leading USA and stay ahead of Oman.

The U.S. lay a beatdown on Canada with the match essentially over after the American innings. Canada only taking 3 wickets was at the heart of the issue. It doesn't help Canada's cause that they don't have a full-time professional coach and their previous coach, having familiarity with Canada's strengths/weaknesses, is now in charge of one of their current opponents.

Canada choosing to go with an extra bowler but failing to bowl out Oman. Canada's batting has not been strong, so preventing Oman batting out was important. As captain, Dhaliwal will have to do better in the ODIs. A decent score from him would probably have been the difference. Movva has not upped his game this year. He too, is depended upon for runs.
