This is in sport what they call ‘facing adversity’. I hope they come back strong.

Kirton appears to be replacing Thakar in the squad for the 3rd ODI against Oman. I'm not sure of the wisdom of including a player facing criminal charges but Canada don't have many options. We'll see what happens both on and off the field, I guess.

Do we know what the criminal proceedings are? They let him into the USA. He was able to leave Bermuda. He’s not in custody. I haven’t tried hard to look but is it a relatively minor brush with the law?

Criminal officials; criminal players. Is CC a criminal enterprise?

Again, Canada with not enough runs - 212. Maybe if the pitch is wearing they can defend it?

Pretty dire from Canada. Not enough runs, not enough wickets. Cricket Canada admins have contributed to this downturn and it's on them to turn things around.

No coach, an aging squad and no clear replacements is a sorry state of affairs. It seems Jeremy Gordon is done with Heyliger not many years behind. Canada is struggling to find a wicket-taking opener in their place. Bin Zafar is no longer a threat to add a quick 30 when the team is in tough. Movva's bad batting form means another keeper option is needed. Lots of areas to be addressed by CC and soon.

Canada finish their 5th League 2 series by digging themselves another huge hole against the Americans and are unable to bat their way out. They had the U.S. in trouble at 103/5 but a 139 run 6th wicket stand was their undoing. The team has not shown the ability to chase down anything marginally above 200 this series so the result was not in much doubt after the U.S. innings.

Some serious introspection now required from the Canadian players but more so the board after this tour. Both the batting and bowling are not up to the League 2 level at the moment. It is up to the board to address the failures and rectify them as Canada are another whitewash away from being out of contention for a top 4 finish in League 2 and facing the uncertainties of another qualifier playoff.

From an old cricinfo (?) article
“According to a report in Starcom Network he has been charged with possession, trafficking, importation and intent to supply cannabis.”
The Royal Gazette says 20 pounds of cannabis and that he is cooperating with police.
