Saw this on reddit with regard to the election of the 3 Associate members of the ICC's Chief Executives Committee:

This post from journalist Bertus de Jong was interesting:

Should point out that Palani was still at Bahrain CF when the worst of that was going on. He only started working with France sonetime last year. Still lives in Dubai AKAIK. Canada getting their man Klair in without HP support while under active ACU investigation perhaps a little more surprising. Come to think of it I'm pretty sure Palani is a Canadian national these days too. So good for Canada I guess, and India of course.
Not sure whether I am reading this correctly. Does this say that Cricket Canada has lost their high performance funding while it is under investigation from the ICC ?

It is surprising that with all the issues Cricket Canada is facing, that one of its board members is deemed worthy of representing their fellow Associate members.

To end the year 2025, in undoubtedly related moves, Cricket Canada have removed their CEO and suspended their Alberta provincial cricket body he once headed.

Cricket Canada has shown a high tolerance for "breaches" and questionable individuals over the decades. What had to have happened to cause them to take such actions ? The poor decisions this incarnation of the CC board have taken continue to haunt them and the national teams.

Well this is a Scrooge like story! I opened the forum today expecting to find nothing there on Christmas morning but alas. I hope the team players can really pull together and put on a good effort at the WC next month.

On the Emerging Cricket podcast from Mar. 5th at the 38'42" mark, Daniel Beswick says "We've heard some rumours out of Canader [sic] and, you know, off record speaking to a couple of people things aren't as rosy there as maybe people might think and we might hear some more stuff down the track..."

^ This could be said of CC at various times over the last 3 decades.

But yes, I read the FB of one fellow who seems knowledgeable of the goings on in Cricket Canada. The top CC admins have apparently been fending off a bid from the provinces to oust them.
Also, the head of Ontario has been charged with a serious crime. You can probably do a search to find the details if you are so inclined.

At the very least, there must have been a major fall out between the CC president and the former CEO.

New (competent) leadership is needed - a familiar refrain in Canadian cricket.
