Caribbean 20-20 tournament to be streamed on CBC

Cricket Canada media release
Cricket Canada and CBC sports have again teamed up to bring the excitement of T20 cricket to Canadians. Following on the success of last year’s broadcast, Cricket Canada, CBC Sports and the West Indies Cricket Board have teamed up to make the entire Caribbean T20 tournament available live in Canada on CBCsports.ca.
The announcement today caps a very busy six weeks for Cricket Canada where 4 major sponsorship deals and this broadcast deal were signed.
Cricket Canada President Ranjit Saini speaking about the agreement with CBC was upbeat about the momentum generated towards the end of the year.

“We are pleased to come to this arrangement with CBC and WICB and I am excited to announce that one of our new partners, Apollo Convention Centre here in the GTA has made a significant contribution to bringing this event to Canadians…it is certainly another feather in our cap and speaks volumes about the strong relationship we maintain with both CBC and the West Indies Cricket Board. The role of WICB in Cricket canada development continues to grow and is very likely going to result in more joint ventures in the very near future”.

Saini continued to say

“We are delighted with the initiative and commitment being expressed by CBC to support Canadian Cricket and we are on our way to explore ways and means to develop local infrastructure to produce and broadcast Canadian cricket events within Canada and worldwide.”

Saini thanked Apollo Convention Centre who recently joined Cricket Canada as a programs partner and official banquets supplier to Cricket Canada for coming forward to support Internet Broadcast of CT20 games in a very short notice. At the CT20, Canada will carry the Apollo logo as well as that of Etihad on the playing shirts. CBC Sports will broadcast online all the matches which will be presented by Apollo Convention Centre.

CBCsports.ca will broadcast all matches in the CT20 tournament live. The CBC broadcast will be available only in Canada.
