Over the holiday season, reports surfaced in the media that John Davison would withdraw from participation in the ICC Cricket World Cup. Davison confirmed with Ranjit Saini, President of Cricket Canada yesterday of his commitment to play in the event.
With that, Cricket Canada confirms that John Davison will represent Canada at the event to be played in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka starting mid February. This would be John’s third consecutive appearance at the World Cup for Canada. John hit the headlines in the 2003 World Cup when he scored the fastest World Cup century in history. He followed this with the third-fastest World Cup fifty against New Zealand.
Cricket Canada will name the final 15 for the CWC 2011 in two weeks time.
