In their opening match at the ICC Americas U-19 Division One tournament, Canada defeated Bahamas by 9 wickets at Brian Piccolo Park. Akash Shah took a hat trick and finished with six wickets for Canada as they bowled Bahamas out for 65 in 29.1 overs before chasing the runs in 17.5 overs.
The senior team played a warm-up match against the Netherlands, winning comfortably after a good bowling performance dismissed the Netherlands for 151. Khurram Chohan (2-18), Harvir Baidwan (2-29), Parth Desai (2-18) and Balaji Rao (2-12) all bowled well as the Dutch were bowled out in 44.4 overs – Tom de Grooth top scoring with 41. Jimmy Hansra made 54* as canada passed the target with more than 10 overs in hand.
