The Under 19s beat top of the table Nepal by three wickets thanks to an invaluable half century from Edghill following a strong bowling performance. Singh, Manoosingh, Juvarajan and Kumar all took wickets as Nepal managed just 106, all out in the 43rd over. Edghill’s unbeaten innings was by far the highest score of the match.
Canada won the toss and asked Nepal to bat. Singh bowled a brilliant opening spell, taking two wickets and conceding just one run from the bat (along with three wides) in five overs. Trevor Manoosingh took three wickets with his wrist spin, and helped reduced Nepal to 67/6 after 27 overs. Juvarajan also was effective with three wickets, including B Karki for a 25 ball duck. 22 from Airee helped take Nepal to three figures but two wickets from Kumar finished off the innings.
Canada found conditions difficult when they batted, losing half their wickets for 51. Kyle Edghill stabilised the innings with patient batting and Canada won by 3 wickets. Edghill’s 52 took 133 balls, and was 30 runs more than any other bat managed in the game.
