Cricket Europe on ICC Governance

Cricket Europe has written an open letter to Lord Woolf of Barnes, appointed to lead a review of the ICC’s governance. We recommend reading the letter in full, but some quotes give the flavour of the correspondence
“There can …..be little doubt that the majority of the Executive Board believe that their duty is to act in the interest of the ten Full members, with scant or no regard to the interests and needs of the ICC’s 95 remaining members.”
“We therefore urge you to give consideration to the following measures: reform of the Executive Board to redress the balance between the 10 Full members and the 95 Associate and Affiliate members, giving a more substantial voice to the latter.”
“As long as Full membership, with its accordant financial benefits, remains a self-perpetuating closed shop there will always be a serious question about the right of the ICC to claim to be ‘a well governed and leading global sporting organisation”
