At the Cricket Canada AGM, the directors elected officers to the executive of Cricket Canada. The election results are as follows :
President – Ravin Moorthy (elected)
First Vice President – Vacant (to be appointed by executive)
Second Vice President – Vimal Hardat (re-elected)
Third Vice President – Amit Joshi (elected)
Ravin Moorthy takes over from Ranjit Saini, president since 2010. Moorthy has been in the vice-president’s position, with responsibility for the high performance programme. Ravin comes from the Calgary cricket scene, where he was on the executive of the Calgary and District Cricket League, being involved in developing new grounds, working on schools programmes, and developing cricket in Alberta. With Vimal Hardat of BC and Amit Joshi of Nova Scotia as vice-presidents the highest level of the executive currently lacks representation from Ontario, for many years the centre of Canadian cricket. The position of general secretary was also up for election at the meeting.
Canada Cricket Online wishes the new executive good luck in the challenges that face them in moving Canadian cricket forward, and thanks Mr Saini for his service as President.
