Vandalism in Halifax- statement from NSCA

Statement from Nova Scotia Cricket Association
“At some time on Tuesday October 22, the cricket pitch at the Halifax commons was vandalized with a racial graffiti.
The HRM has subsequently removed the offensive graffiti. The NSCA board has contacted the appropriate authorities and will provide updates as required.
The NSCA is a diverse community of people from various backgrounds including Canada, India, Pakistan, Australia, South Africa, England, the Caribbean and Bangladesh. We are unified in condemning any message that spreads hate and are also heartened by the overwhelming support of the wider Halifax community in condemning this act.
While we can only speculate on the motivation of the person responsible, the only achievement this incident has provided, is to give the sport of cricket a great deal of positive exposure on social media, as we continue our rapid expansion in Halifax and other regions throughout Canada.”
