[Cricket Canada must make some decisions as it is being widely reported that the captain of the Men’s team has been arrested in Barbados. This continues a difficult start to 2025 for the organization and the latest news does not help with the acquisition and retention of corporate sponsorship.]

The arrest of Canada cricket captain Nicholas Kirton has sent shock waves through the ICC Americas region and put into doubt his participation against Bermuda in a few weeks’ time.
The 26-year-old was also announced this week as an international signing for the second edition of the Bermuda Smash Invitational in June.
According to overseas media reports, the Barbadian-born star was held by police at Grantley Adams International Airport on Sunday after arriving in his homeland on an Air Canada flight.
