Guelph cricket clubs worry if they don’t get more cricket pitches to play on there won’t be a next generation of cricket players in the city.
If nothing changes in the next five years the Guelph Cricket Club says it will fold.
“We will end the club,” said Sarabjeet Narang, founding member and president of the Guelph Cricket Club.
He is 54-years-old and instead of playing, he should be retiring from the sport.
“I’m not getting enough young generation to take the lead, so eventually I will have to stop,” he said.
There isn’t a lack of interest in youth wanting to learn the sport, just not enough places and bookings available to train them.
