The battle for control of cricket in Alberta continues with a major victory for the Alberta Cricket Council. Previously an arbitrator ruled that Cricket Canada should appoint an independent individual to investigate the competing claims of the ACC and Alberta Cricket Association to control cricket in Alberta. For reasons that it is hard to understand, Cricket Canada chose to fight this decision in the courts. A judge has ruled on this and based on the ACC’s Facebook page, has found against Cricket Canada.
Thus it seems that an independent investigation must proceed. In the meantime however, there is an election next weekend, and the ACA will potentially carry four votes in that election. The ACC in their letter posted on Facebook state they will contest any election. It seems this saga will continue to run for a few more episodes yet.
