Alberta went unbeaten to win the Western T20, held in Edmonton. Alberta beat BC in the final game to win the title.
Sudeepta Aurka from Alberta was named best batsman of the tournament and his team mate Sanaldeep Singh was named the best bowler; Khurram Chohan took the man of the tournament honours.

The Western T20 championship started with three inter-provincial matches today (Saturday, June 18, 2016) at Edmonton’s Victoria Park and concludes after three more games tomorrow (Sunday, June 19, 2016). Host Alberta (186, Sudeepta Aurka 84) beat Manitoba 44 all out in the opening game of the tournament. Manitoba 76 all out lost to British Columbia by 10 wickets and the opening day concluded with Alberta (178/6) beating Saskatchewan (96 all out).
