MCC womens tour concludes

mccThe sun set on the first MCC Women’s tour to Canada on Sunday evening (Sept 18, 2016). Two games were played this weekend between MCC and the Canada Select XI.
Rain caused the Saturday’s scheduled 50 over game at Niagara Cricket Centre (near Niagara Falls, Ontario) to be reduced to a T20 game. Saturday’s rain also caused early Sunday morning concern at Maple Leaf Cricket Club, King City, Ontario but the game went ahead as a 40 overs per side game, rather than 50 overs.
Saturday Sept 17, 2016 Summary Score:
MCC 129/3 (20 ov; Charlotte Edwards 55)
Canada Select XI 94/4 (20 ov).
MCC won by 35 runs.
Sunday Sept 18, 2016 Summary Score:
MCC 249/9 (40 ov; Charlotte Edwards 102, Aylish Cranstone 51)
Canada Select XI 76 (28 ov).
MCC won by 173 runs [The winning margin is similar to Charlotte Edwards highest score in an ODI.]

During some closing presentations, MCC Player/Manager for this tour, Judy Wilmot, spoke about improvements by Canadian players during the course of this series.
The MCC flag was still flying in the background as the teams gathered for closing presentations.
