The final of the Toronto District Cricket Association’s 2017 Under-18 championship was washed out on Sunday and the championship will be shared between Oakville Cricket Academy and Qasra Cricket Academy. Oakville’s innings ended around the 13th over due to heavy rain. Soon after a decision that Qasra would bat for 7 overs had been made the skies blasted down more rain and that was it for the U18 final.

Saturday’s U18 semi-finals both had tight finishes. Oakville hit a boundary straight over the bowler’s head to beat GoGreen off the last ball of the 20 overs to win and Qasra scored the winning single with one ball to spare against Australasia.

It was hoped that the Under-14 final would be played at 4.30 pm on Sunday as the rain had stopped and the sun came out. The Under-16 and Under-12 finals are due to be played today, Monday September 4, 2017 at Sunnybrook Park with a 10am start indicated on a TDCA facebook post. (EN)
