Last week of Indoor Regular Season for Peel High Schools

The last week of the 2017-2018 indoor cricket regular season has arrived for High Schools in the Peel Region of Ontario as April turns into May. Just five games remain to be played in the 23- school Senior Boys competition, which has been played as a single round-robin series of games within each of four regional groups. The Varsity Girls competition, with eight participating schools divided into two regions, also has five games remaining as the double-round robin schedule of games draws to a conclusion. Seven regular season games remain to be played in the Junior Boys competition.
Remaining Games – Junior Boys
The Junior Boys competition has seven games remaining to be played. Two games remain in the North division: Central Peel (Won 5/Lost 0) plays Castlebrook (W2/L3) on Monday (April 30) then North Park (W3/L2) plays Sandalwood Heights (W0/L5) on Thursday (May 3).
Five games are on the schedule for the Junior Boys South division. On Monday (April 30) TL Kennedy (W1/L4) visit Applewood Heights (W0/L3). Current leaders Turner Fenton (W4/L0) visit third-placed Glenforest (W2/L2) on Tuesday (May 1) then the teams meet again on Thursday (May 3) at Turner Fenton. Stephen Lewis (W1/L4) visit Glenforest on Thursday then wrap up the regular season for this school year with a visit to Applewood Heights on Friday (May 4).
Remaining Games – Varsity Girls
The North division wraps up on Tuesday (May 1) when currently unbeaten Sandalwood Heights (W5/L0) visit Louise Arbour (W2/L3) meet and Castlebrook (W1/L4) hosts Humberview (W2/L3).
North Park (now W5/L1) completed the regular season with a 9 run win against Mentor College last week. By contrast, Heart Lake has three games remaining of a 6-game regular season schedule.
Mentor College (W2/L2) visits Heart Lake (W2/L1) on Monday (April 30). On Thursday Heart Lake visits Father Michael Goetz (W0/L5) then on Friday (May 4) Heart Lake’s regular season concludes with a trip to Mentor College.
Senior Boys Cricket
In the five school Senior Boys North Division Castlebrook take first place with 4 wins from 4 games. North Park place second with 3 wins a 1 loss. The one remaining game in this division is set for Tuesday (May 1) when Sandalwood Heights (W0/L3) visits Louise Arbour (W1/L2). Heart Lake’s regular season concluded with 1 win and 3 losses.
Central Peel (W5/L0) top the North Central division ahead of second-place Lincoln M.Alexander (W4/L1). The one remaining game in this division is on Monday (April 30) when St Francis Xavier (W0/L3/Tie1) visit St Joseph (W2/L2). The regular season for Brampton Centennial closed with 2 wins and 3 losses and Mentor College’s season record ended with a tie against St Francis Xavier and 4 losses.
