Lack of crowds has Global T20 cricket organizers stumped

Where have all the fans gone? The organizers erected temporary stands with seating for 7,000 fans it expected at the Maple Leaf Cricket Ground at King City, that’s located 50 kilometres north of Toronto. But no more than 3,500 have filled the stands each day since the first ball was bowled last Thursday….
West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who captains Winnipeg Hawks, hasn’t been a fan of the wicket even after his team crushed Toronto Nationals by a whopping 56 runs on Monday.
“In all honesty, more effort should have been put in to build better pitches,’’ said Bravo, “especially since this tournament has brought in world-class players and so many promising young players.
“It is dangerous to play in these conditions and you don’t want to see any player to be injured by a delivery because of the pitch,” added Bravo. This was his parting shot before leaving on Wednesday to fulfill his commitments with Middlesex in the T20 Blast in England.
