Canada first to arrive in Dhaka (Financial Express)

Canada will arrive in Dhaka on February 9 (Wednesday) as the first World Cup cricket team, reports UNB.

They will play their first warm-up match against hosts Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on February 12.

England team, which is due to arrive here on February 13, will play their warm-up matches against Canada on February 16 and Pakistan on February 18, both at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.

Pakistan team is due in the capital on February 11. They will play two warm-up matches against Bangladesh and England on February 15 and 18 respectively at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium (SBNS) in Mirpur and Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.

South Africans will arrive here on March 16, three days before their group B match against hosts Bangladesh on March 19 at the SBNS.

West Indies team will land in Dhaka on March 1, three days before their group match against Bangladesh on March 4:00 at SBNS.

Indian team is due to arrive in Dhaka on Feb 17, one day before their inaugural match against Bangladesh on February 19 at SBNS.

Ireland team will also arrive on Feb 17 to join the ICC Cricket World Cup opening ceremony at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Ireland will play against Bangladesh on February 25 at SBNS.

Bangladesh has been placed in Group B with India, South Africa, West Indies, England, Netherlands and Ireland.

Team accommodations have been arranged in the city’s Hotel Sheraton.
