Canada’s fragile batting failed against a confident Afghan bowling attack in Canada’s 2nd warm-up match prior to the World Cup.
Hamid Hassan removed openers John Davison and Nitish Kumar for 1 and 0 respectively, and Ashish Bagai for a duck soon afterwards. Mirwais Ashraf then took over, taking 4-39 as Canada were bowled out for just 105 in 30.3 overs. Only four Canadian batsmen reached double figures, and the top score came from number 9 Khurram Chohan, who made 24. Afghanistan lost five wickets in reply, but still reached their target in 23.3 overs, Asghar Stanikzai top scoring with 27.
