The Euro T20 franchise competition has been officially announced by the participating countries- Scotland, Ireland, and the Netherlands. It is scheduled to run for 3 weeks from August 30th, after Cricket Canada’s global T20 event finishes mid-August.

There is little detail in regard to the backers, Indian based GS Holdings and Woods Entertainment, who have been granted a 10-year license. Early reports suggested that Mercuri, holders of the Global T20 license might be involved, and it is still possible that they have some relationship with GS Holdings/ Woods.
